Man arrested after officers allegedly find DVD with 23 videos of child porn
Published at | Updated atSHELLEY — A 52-year-old man was arrested on Thursday after officers say he was found with a DVD containing child sexual abuse material.
Shaun Patrick Millard was charged with 23 counts of willfully possessing or accessing child sexually exploitative material and one felony enhancement for being a persistent violator.
According to court records, Millard is a registered sex offender.
On July 28, a Bingham County Sheriff Detective was contacted by dispatch to help the State Probation and Parole with a home visit at Millard’s house.
When the detective arrived, he learned the parole officers had found multiple parole violations and taken Millard into custody.
According to the police report, a clear plastic sack was on the kitchen counter with “four pairs of little girls’ dirty underwear that appeared to be soiled.”
The detective also found five DVDs in the sack. When they played the DVD, they reportedly found 23 videos of children engaged in sexual acts.
One of the videos appeared to be of a young female who detectives say Millard was often around. On August 14, detectives had the parents of the suspected victim in the video come in to identify the child in the video.
The father confirmed it was his 11-year-old daughter in the video. Officers also confirmed that the underwear found at Millard’s house was from an 11-year-old girl.
Millard was arrested on July 28 and booked into the Bingham County Jail with a bond of $200,000. He paid the bond and is expected to be released soon.
Millard was served with a warrant while in jail. He is expected to appear for an initial appearance in felony magistrate court on Friday.
If convicted, he could face up to 230 years in prison.
Though Millard has been charged with these crimes, it does not necessarily mean he committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
