POCATELLO — A Scottsdale, Arizona, man who pleaded guilty to four felony sex crimes has been sentenced to prison.

Daniel Andrade, 36, pleaded guilty to three counts of lewd conduct with a minor and one count of inducing a prostitute under 18, after reaching a plea agreement with the Bannock County Prosecutor’s Office.

He was sentenced to 15 to 40 years in prison during a hearing Tuesday, Bannock County Senior Deputy Prosecutor Erin Tognetti said.

Tognetti told EastIdahoNews.com that she argued for a determinate sentence of 20 years, with another 20 years of indeterminate time. However, District Judge Rick Carnaroli chose instead to order a slightly shorter determinate sentence, though the maximum remains the same.

Andrade was arrested in June 2022 after police responded to calls reporting “suspicious circumstance” at a motel on Bench Road in Pocatello. Officers were shown a Snapchat video that apparently showed a girl discussing a possible rape.

Officers located and spoke to the girl who made the video, and two other underage girls — all three of whom were “highly intoxicated.” One of the girls reported having consensual sex with Andrade; the other said she was raped.

Additional charges were filed in August 2022, related to Andrade’s offer to trade alcohol for sexual favors from the girls, whom he knew to be underage.

As part of an agreement that saw Andrade plead guilty to four of the charges, the Bannock County Prosecutor’s Office dismissed seven charges — including one count of lewd conduct with a minor and three counts of procuring a prostitute.

Following his hearing Tuesday, Andrade was remanded to the custody of the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office for transfer to the custody of the Idaho Department of Correction.
