BLACKFOOT — A teenager on a motorcycle was injured and hospitalized after an early morning crash involving a truck.

The crash happened Thursday morning before 8 a.m. in Blackfoot. There was a 15-year-old boy driving a 2000 Ford F-150. He was traveling southbound on Shilling Avenue, according to Lt. Blake Davis with the Blackfoot Police Department.

There was a 16-year-old boy driving a 2022 Kawasaki enduro-style motorcycle north on Shilling Avenue, Davis said.

“The F-150 tried to make a left turn east onto Rich Street and did not see the motorcycle and did not yield and struck him on the intersection,” Davis told EastIdahoNews.com.

The 16-year-old was taken to Bingham Memorial Hospital. He was later transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and has a broken femur.

Davis said he has non-life threatening injuries and he was wearing a helmet.

The other teen involved was not injured but was cited.

“The 15-year-old driving the Ford F-150 was cited with driving on a restricted license and then failing to yield to the motorcycle,” Davis said.

Along with the Blackfoot Police Department responding to the accident, the Blackfoot Fire Department was on the scene, too.
