The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season.

Sara Illum was a wonderful woman. She was extremely family oriented and her pride and joy was her boys, Jalen and Kaden. She was a single mother whose whole world revolved around them. Sara raised them to be kind, respectful, thoughtful, and extremely hard working. One thing she always wanted was for Kaden to get his college degree.

Last February, Sara was in a horrible accident that took her life at the age of 47. It was unexpected and her boys were faced with many tough decisions and hard times that boys their age should never have to make. At the time, Kaden was a year away from graduating from Idaho State University. Understandably, he had take a break after that semester.

Kaden works 4 to 5 nights a week at the Sandpiper Restaurant in Idaho Falls to help him pay for his last year of school. He often brings his school work with him and digs into it before and after his shift. Sara’s wish was to proudly see her son walk across the stage and receive his mechanical engineering degree.

Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to visit Kaden at work with an early Christmas gift. Watch the surprise in the video player above.
