New widow with teenage son gets a tender surprise from a Secret Santa
Published atThe EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season.
Elsie married Ken in 2008 and they built a life together in Aberdeen working hard, serving and giving to others, living a content humble lifestyle, and showing love and kindness to anyone they met. They were blessed with a son who is now 13 and Elsie began helping elderly people in their homes.
In May, Ken went in for surgery when unexpected complications followed requiring him to be hospitalized in ICU or a skilled care facility in Utah. Ken faced dialysis and a feeding tube. Elsie remained hopeful and dedicated to Ken along with caring for their son while also continuing to care for others and provide an income for their family.
On Nov. 1, Elsie received a phone call that Ken had developed sepsis. He passed away later that day. Elsie has faced all her challenges with an unusual degree of grace, strength, and faith.
