Rigby ready to spread holiday cheer with Festival of Trees, Parade of Lights
Published atRIGBY — The Rigby Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the holiday season with two different family-friendly events. The annual Christmas Light Parade and the Festival of Trees are both set to help residents start the season off right.
The Festival of Trees is scheduled for the week after Thanksgiving, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 28. The annual event is a fundraiser for children’s programs at the Rigby City Library.
Beautifully-decorated Christmas trees, mantelpieces and other holiday decorative items will be available for purchase via silent auction. Folks can also buy items that have been donated by community members.

The tree display is free for viewing at Rigby City Library, 110 North State Street. People can enjoy the display Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Auction ends at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Once you’ve viewed the Festival of Trees (and placed a bid on your favorite, of course), head outside to watch the light parade on Friday, Dec. 1.
The parade will kick off at 6:30 p.m. in front of Dollar Tree, go down Main Street and end on Clark Street. Chamber President Teresa Anderson tells EastIdahoNews.com that this year’s theme is “Visions of Sugar Plums.”
After the parade, kids can visit with Santa, and parents can enjoy shopping the great deals offered by local retailers – most of which will be available all day, as well.
To enter a float in the parade, pick up an entry form at Flying S Title and Escrow, 110 North Clark Street in Rigby. Entry forms must be returned by Nov. 29. For any questions about the parade, contact Teresa Anderson at (208) 745-8715 or Teresa.Anderson@FSTE.com
