Woman arrested after child dies in crash

IDAHO FALLS — A woman has been arrested and charged after a deadly crash involving a child.
30-year-old Jessica Martinez was arrested in connection to the crash on Nov. 15, according to a news release on Monday from the Idaho Falls Police Department. She was the driver of the vehicle.

The crash happened at 11 p.m. in the area of 2080 East 65th South, just east of Sandy Downs. When first responders arrived, they found a rollover crash involving a single vehicle. The vehicle had five occupants inside at the time of the crash, which included Martinez and four juveniles.
Martinez was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
A child was also transported to a local hospital but died as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.
Martinez allegedly admitted to officers that she had consumed alcohol before driving. An open bottle of liquor was found at the scene of the crash, police said.
She was arrested for felony vehicular homicide and three counts of felony injury to a child. She was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
