Woman crashes into building in Idaho Falls and is arrested for DUI

IDAHO FALLS — Police say they arrested a 32-year-old woman from Idaho Falls after she reportedly hit a building with her vehicle and left a hole behind.
The incident happened Sunday night. Idaho Falls police were dispatched at 11 p.m. to a building off Northgate Mile for a single-vehicle rollover crash, Lt. Bob Lasher told EastIdahoNews.com.
The silver Infiniti SUV had hit the brick wall of the building. Lasher said the driver told officers she “went left from the light.” Lasher believes she may have been traveling west on Lomax Street and turned onto Northgate Mile.
She was the only person in the vehicle. There was no one inside the building at the time of the crash.
As of Monday morning, there was still a hole in the building that was big enough to show parts of the inside. It’s a brick building that says, “Idaho Canvas Products.”
EastIdahoNews.com called Idaho Canvas Products, which is now located at a different location. A worker said they no longer own that specific building off Northgate Mile.
We reached out to the current owners of the building and did not hear back. It’s not clear how much money it will take to repair the damage.
Lasher said there were no injuries and the woman involved was eventually arrested for misdemeanor DUI.
