JEFFERSON COUNTY — One person is dead in a Monday morning crash on State Highway 33.

Idaho State Police Lt. Marvin Crain told EastIdahoNews.com that the crash involved a semi-truck and a pickup truck.

It happened just after 7 a.m. near milepost 56, according to Idaho 511. It is west of Sage Junction in Jefferson County, law enforcement officials said. Emergency vehicles have been on the scene, and drivers should expect delays.

The crash occurred in the eastbound and westbound lanes. Much of what happened is unclear.

“It appears, at this point, that it was the pickup’s fault. It crossed the center,” Crain said. “Sounds like slick roads were a contributor.”
