Public asked for help in finding two IDOC inmates who walked away from Boise facility

The following is a news release from the Idaho Department of Correction.

BOISE — The Idaho Department of Correction is seeking two South Boise Women’s Correctional Center residents who walked away from the facility on Sunday.

Sarah Zumwalt, IDOC#136650 and Katy Buchanan, IDOC# 157469, were last on prison property at 8:47 p.m. Sunday.

Zumwalt is 37 years old, 4 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 154 lbs., and has green eyes and strawberry blond hair. Her criminal history includes a conviction for possession of a controlled substance out of Kootenai County. Her sentence was scheduled to be satisfied on Feb. 23, 2029.

Buchanan is 30 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 178 lbs., and has hazel eyes and dark blonde hair. Her criminal history includes a conviction for possession of a controlled substance out of Kootenai County. Her sentence was scheduled to be satisfied on Feb. 29, 2028.

People with information about Zumwalt’s and Buchanan’s whereabouts should call 911.
