DOWNEY – A century of tradition continues as the annual Bannock County Fair returns for another exciting year.

The annual Bannock County Fair is returning to Downey Aug. 5 through 10. This year’s theme, “Barnyard Beach Party,” invites everyone to show off their Idaho beach vacation wear while they take in a classic agriculture-based county fair in rural Marsh Valley.

The fair’s patrons can expect a variety of events for the whole family, from hypnotists to stock sales to cornhole tournaments. An assortment of food vendors will be available throughout the fair to satisfy fair food cravings.

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, with the traditional Free Potato Bar served by the Fair Board and Bannock County elected officials. The parade through Downey will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, followed by a street dance down Main Street.

For the first time ever, sea lions will make a splash at the fair with shows on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Fan favorites, like the Trash Cars, Mini Monster Trucks, Extreme Ranch Rodeo, and classic Rodeo, will also return this year.

A variety of performances will be offered this year, including musical acts by Hartley Road and Cale Moon, comedian Todd Johnson, impressionist Mike Walker, hypnotist Tyzen, and magician Louie Foxx.

Come see why the Bannock County Fair is considered “the best little fair in Idaho.” For more information about events, follow the Bannock County Fair/Rodeo on Facebook, or click here.
