Bingham Healthcare Foundation donates $7,500 to support Bingham County School Resource Officers and Blackfoot Police

BLACKFOOT ― The Bingham Healthcare Foundation is proud to announce a donation of $4,000 to ensure that every School Resource Officer (SRO) in Bingham County is equipped with an emergency response kit. Additionally, the Foundation contributed $3,500 to the Blackfoot Police Department, which was used to purchase Level III-A ballistic helmets for each officer.
These contributions come at a critical time as law enforcement in Eastern Idaho face increasing dangers due to the rise in encounters with armed individuals, both in criminal situations and in mental health crises. The need for enhanced protective gear for community officers has never been greater.
The $4,000 donation for School Resource Officers is aimed at ensuring that each officer is prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies within schools. These kits include essential tools and supplies that SROs need to manage critical situations, providing peace of mind to students, parents, and school staff.
The ballistic helmets provide critical protection for Blackfoot Police Department officers, including those on patrol and officers who serve on the Southeast Idaho Special Tactics and Response (STAR) team. These helmets are designed to withstand high-risk situations, ensuring that our officers can perform their duties safely and effectively.
