Damaged sewer line in Rexburg now fixed

REXBURG — Residents no longer have to limit water use after crews in Rexburg have fixed a major city sewer line that was damaged.
As of 7 a.m. on Friday, Rexburg city spokesman Scott Johnson told EastIdahoNews.com that early in the morning, staff and contractor crews located and repaired the broken section of sewer line.
“We thank everyone involved for their hard work and we thank the community for their patience and assistance,” Johnson said.
Rexburg Rapids and the splash pad at Porter Park will be open on Friday, Johnson added.
The city of Rexburg asked residents on Thursday to limit indoor water use after a major city sewer line was hit and damaged around 8 a.m.
The damage was caused by the construction contractor working on the U.S. Highway 20 center interchange project at Exit 333.
The cities of Rexburg, Sugar City and Teton were all affected.
Rexburg Rapids and the Porter Park splash pad closed Thursday out of an abundance of caution.
