The following is a news release and photo from the city of Idaho Falls.

IDAHO FALLS – Contractors working on the new City of Idaho Falls water tower project will need to temporarily close one lane of traffic on Park Avenue, near its intersection with Cliff Street, from Monday, Aug. 5 to Friday, Aug. 9.

This small closure will facilitate work on the new higher-capacity water tower. Access to businesses will remain open, and while the east sidewalk on Park Avenue will be closed, the west sidewalk will stay open.

Traffic will only be able to travel from north to south through this section of Park Avenue.

Please reduce speeds, obey posted traffic control signage, and watch for construction crews throughout the work zone.

For questions or concerns about this project, contact Idaho Falls Public Works at (208) 612-8250.

After diving deeper into the history of Idaho Falls’ water towers, the City of Idaho Falls is excited to share the different ways we plan to celebrate the current water tower with the community. The first commemoration of our city’s history with water towers will be at a booth at the Roaring Youth Jam from Aug. 8 to 10 with a youth art project.
