Police release video footage of ‘person of interest’ who may know something about beating death
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — Police are searching for a person of interest following the brutal beating death of a man in Idaho Falls Saturday night.
Alejandro Paredas-Hurtado, 50, died after being found on the sidewalk of Northgate Mile near May Street. Police say he had “significant injuries” after being beaten.

Nobody has been arrested in connection to the incident but the Idaho Falls Police Department released dash camera video from an officer’s vehicle Monday night showing a person of interest crossing the street near where Paredas-Hurtado was found.
“The officer was turning onto Northgate Mile from May Street when this footage was captured. After this person crossed May Street, the officer turned south onto Northgate Mile and shortly thereafter spotted Mr. Paredes-Hurtado where he was laying on the sidewalk in front of businesses in the 500 block of Northgate Mile,” a statement from the police department says.

Investigators are asking the public for help in finding the person so officers can speak with them. Anyone with information is asked to call (208) 529-1200. Anonymous tips can be submitted to East Idaho Crime Stoppers at IFCrime.org. Tipsters who report information to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
