Young man killed in crash near Bliss

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

BLISS — Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatality collision that occurred at 2:23 a.m. Monday on eastbound I84 at mile-marker 132.4, near Bliss.

An 18-year-old male driving a red 1997 Chevrolet GMT-400 was traveling westbound on I84 when he struck a light pole. The pickup rolled through the median, came to a stop in the eastbound lanes, and the driver was ejected.

A 32-year-old male driving a 2003 Peterbilt pulling a 2021 Wilson trailer was traveling eastbound on I84 when he collided with the driver of the Chevy.

The driver of the Chevrolet succumbed to his injuries on scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police. ISP was assisted by Gooding County Paramedics and Law Enforcement, Bliss QRU, Bliss Fire, and the Gooding County Coroner.
