SWAN VALLEY — The Bonneville County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was killed in a truck crash early Saturday morning.

Deputy Coroner Greg Black said the man was 53-year-old Jeffrey Phillips of Victor.

Idaho State Police say the single-vehicle crash occurred at about 1:15 a.m. just west of Swan Valley on U.S. Highway 26 at milepost 368.

Phillips was driving eastbound on US-26 in a 2003 GMC pickup when the vehicle left the south shoulder of the roadway and struck an embankment.

Phillips, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and died from blunt-force trauma at the scene, according to Black.

The crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
