ISU opens new Bengal Pharmacy in McCammon and you’re invited to the open house
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS – Idaho State University opened its sixth Bengal Pharmacy in McCammon this summer, and it’s celebrating with an open house this week.
The public is invited to an open house at 208 Center Street at 4 p.m. on Nov. 22. ISU President Robert Wagner and others are expected to give some brief remarks. Food and drinks will be available as well.
Since its launch in August, Amber Alder, the marketing director for the Kasiska Division of Health Sciences, which oversees the pharmacy, tells EastIdahoNews.com the McCammon location is performing well.
“It’s the only one in town,” Alder says. “It’s an underserved, rural area so it’s set up to succeed.”
The fact that it’s the only pharmacy in town is the reason McCammon was selected for the state’s sixth location. Giving rural areas access to critical medications in their own neighborhood is the goal of the new building.
The new location has all the services the campus location has to offer.
This is the second Bengal Pharmacy to open this year. A Chubbuck location opened in July at 4914 Yellowstone Avenue. Its open house was on Sept. 26.
There are other locations in Arco, Challis and Meridian.
Alder says there is potential for additional locations to open in the near future, depending on how the McCammon store does.
She’s excited for how it will benefit the community.
“We are so excited to have the opportunity to serve additional communities in Idaho,” Rikki Trussel, Bengal Pharmacy manager, says in a news release. “This new location will allow (us) to expand (our) services, offering more personalized care and improving health outcomes for patients statewide. By transforming community pharmacy and driving innovation, our goal is to inspire future leaders in pharmacy and set a new standard for patients in rural communities.”
The McCammon location is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
