It’s time to deck the yards for Chubbuck’s Annual Holiday Decorating Contest

CHUBBUCK — Bring out the lights and holiday cheer for Chubbuck’s Annual Holiday Decorating Contest.
All residents and businesses are invited to participate in the contest.
This year, judges will prioritize new and different decorations.
“You’re not going to win every year if you do the exact same thing,” said Contest Coordinator Brad Winters.
Categories include “Best Animation,” “Most Colorful,” “Most Traditional,” “Spirit of the Season,” “Best Commercial/Business Display,” the “Clark Griswold Award” for most lights and “Best Overall Display.”
The street with the most holiday spirit will be named the “Best Decorated Neighborhood, Street or Cul-de-Sac.”
Judging will run from Dec. 2 to Dec. 8.
Have your lights on from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the best chance for the judges to see your work.
The judges will announce the winners on Dec. 9.
Winners will receive yard signs no later than Dec. 10.
Winners will also be featured on the city website and social media.
“It’s just a lot of fun,” Winters said. “It’s fun to see everybody push themselves and go further and do something different.”
To nominate a house, email ChubbuckLightscontest@gmail.com. Be sure to include the house address, photos and which award they should win. The number of emails does not increase a house’s chance of winning. Judges will accept submissions until Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.
