UPS workers arrested for stealing deliveries meant for customers, deputies say
Published at | Updated atREXBURG — Three UPS workers have been charged for their alleged involvement in a theft scheme at a UPS shipping facility in Rexburg.
Jerry Hodges and John Forsyth have been charged with felony grand theft, and Mitchell Wilwand has been charged with misdemeanor petit theft, according to a Madison County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The investigation began in June 2024 and revealed that the UPS employees had allegedly stolen some $7,000 worth of products intended for customer delivery.
The investigation initially focused on theft by a single UPS employee but was later expanded to include additional suspects in the same facility. Local police worked with UPS security and discovered the employees had been using their positions in the damaged goods section of the facility to unlawfully obtain items for personal use, according to the release.
Hodges, Forsyth, and Wilwand allegedly collaborated in the theft, taking various goods destined for UPS customers.
Police say the suspects have returned many of the stolen items to UPS security.
Additional details will be released when court documents are available.
