IDAHO FALLS — Snow is expected throughout the day on Monday in parts of eastern Idaho.

A winter weather advisory has been in place since Sunday and will be until 8 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Pocatello.

Cities like Idaho Falls, Rexburg, and St. Anthony are expected to receive between 2 and 4 inches of snow. Winds are predicted to gust as high as 45 mph, which could lead to blowing and drifting snow.

“Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes,” the advisory says.

NWS Meteorologist Travis Wyatt said the next system for snow in eastern Idaho will be Thursday through Saturday.

“There’s not going to be a lot down low, maybe half an inch in Rexburg. It’s going to be mainly in the mountains,” Wyatt said of later this week.

This week’s temperatures might be a little chilly. The highs in Pocatello will be around the 40s, with lows in the 20s and 30s.

On Tuesday night, the lows in Idaho Falls are predicted to be 12 degrees, with highs of 29. Rexburg’s lows on Tuesday will be around 8 degrees, with highs of 25, according to NWS
