Winter weather advisory issued for parts of eastern Idaho
Published atPOCATELLO — A winter weather advisory for this weekend has been issued in parts of eastern Idaho.
The National Weather Service in Pocatello said it will be in effect from 5 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.
Snow is expected in places like Downey, McCammon, Lava Hot Springs, Pocatello, Shelley, Blackfoot, Fort Hall, American Falls and Inkom.
“Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches below 5,500 feet. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches above 5,500 feet with locally higher amounts on mountain tops,” the advisory from NWS said.
It also said that drivers should plan on “slippery road conditions.” It could potentially impact Friday evening’s commute.
