1 dead, 2 hospitalized following 2-vehicle crash in northern Idaho

ATHOL – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in northern Idaho Friday night.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 95 at Parks Road just south of Athol in Kootenai County, according to a news release from Idaho State Police.
A 23-year-old man from Trego, Montana was headed north on U.S. 95 in a 2012 Toyota Tacoma. He hit a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder as it was pulling out of Parks Road to head south. Two people were inside the Pathfinder, including a 75-year-old male driver and a 92-year-old woman in the passenger seat. Both of them were from Coeur d’Alene.
Although everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt, ISP reports the woman died at the scene. Both men were taken to the hospital by ambulance and are in stable condition, as of 11:53 p.m.
ISP have ruled out alcohol or speeding as factors in the crash. It remains under investigation.
