A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out.

Every day from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise, and today we are surprising a woman named Carrie.

Carrie, her daughter and granddaughter have been using space heaters since the beginning of November because their furnace quit.

Their fridge also recently died but Carrie was able to find a used one and she was crying tears of joy because she could not afford to fix the fridge or get a new one.

Carrie and her family are always giving compliments to others and are willing to help anyone they can.

She recently learned that her entire department at work will be eliminated at the end of the year, and she is worried about what’s next.

Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to go surprise Carrie with an early Christmas gift. Check out the video in the player above.
