AMMON – Ammon Mayor Sean Coletti is gearing up for his annual “Messiah Sing-In” and the community is invited to participate.

The non-denominational celebration is returning to Thunder Ridge High School on Dec. 15. The purpose is to bring people together to remember the birth of Jesus Christ through music.

This year’s event will include a full choir and orchestra, as well as several soloists. Among them are Nykele Shapiro, Josh Chandler, Emma Hale, Dalton Kohler, Owen Shelly, Phylicia Fife, Shay Traue, Jessica Harwood, Jordan Cammack, Karin Dance, Ken Miles, Brittney Croft, Sean Coletti, and Andrew Hansen.

Those who attend will be invited to sing along with the choir numbers. Musical numbers include “And The Glory of the Lord,” “And He Shall Purify,” “For Unto Us a Child is Born,” “Glory to God,” and “Hallelujah Chorus.”

The event will conclude with a rendition of “Worthy is the Lamb that was Slain.”

“Audience members should consider bringing their Handel’s Messiah books to the performance,” a news release for the event says.

Admission is free, but participants are encouraged to bring one nonperishable food item for donation to the Idaho Falls Community Food Basket.

Messiah Sing-In will begin in the high school auditorium at 6 p.m.

This event is sponsored by Ammon Arts and The Langston Family Foundation.
