AMERICAN FALLS – American Falls police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting that happened over the weekend.

Officers responded to the 200 block of McKinley Street on Sunday morning after receiving multiple calls reporting gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they found gunshots in both a vehicle and home.

“They had noticed that a vehicle appeared to have bullet holes in the frame, in the side panels of it (and) the windows were broken out. As they got closer to the residence, they noticed some bullet holes in the home,” American Falls Police Chief Brandon Wilkinson says.

Despite three adults being in the house at the time, no one was injured.

Police are trying to determine who is responsible for the shooting.

“We gathered evidence from the scene that we’ll be processing and then we’re going through surveillance cameras in the area,” Wilkinson explained.

Wilkinson wasn’t able to speak to how many holes were in the home and vehicle, but says they did find bullet casings, which are being processed.

Police believe this was an isolated incident. New information will be provided when it’s available.

Anyone with information on the crime can share it with the department at (208) 226-5922.
