All lanes on U.S. Highway 20 are back open after a fiery crash near the Thornton exit. That’s according to a Facebook post from Madison County Sheriff’s Office around 6 p.m.

REXBURG — Multiple law enforcement agencies have responded to a crash on U.S. Highway 20 involving a vehicle on fire and people being hospitalized.
The incident happened on Monday before 5 p.m. The Rexburg Police Department posted about it on social media, saying that there was a “significant traffic accident” in the westbound (southbound) lanes at milepost 328, which is near the Thornton exit.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said two vehicles were involved, and one caught fire. Three people were transported to the hospital by ambulance. No one was killed, authorities say.
Pictures of the wreck were sent to the East Idaho News newsroom.
Traffic is being diverted off the highway at the Thornton exit. Law enforcement is asking drivers to plan an alternate route toward Rigby and Idaho Falls.
The fire has been extinguished, according to the Rexburg Police Department.
“Please use caution and give our emergency responders space to work,” the post read.
