Fundraiser created for family of Idaho Falls native, father of two young children killed in crash
Published at | Updated atJEROME — An Idaho Falls native, husband and father of two young children is being remembered for living a life full of selflessness and love.
Randy Carl Steadham, nicknamed “Spud,” 37, died Monday night in a crash in Hagerman. Steadham was born and raised in Idaho Falls before moving to Jerome. He leaves behind his wife, Rena Steadham, and their two children, a 5-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl.
“I was talking to a few of his other friends in Jerome the last couple days and everyone said … he was the one that literally would drop anything if you needed help,” said Austin French, a friend of the family. “Several people, if you ask them (who’s) the one person they would call if they needed something, he would be the person.”
French said Steadham was energetic, loved the outdoors and had a passion for hunting. More than anything, he loved his family and was proud of them.
“He worshipped (his wife) and their kids,” French said.
A GoFundMe was created for Steadham’s wife and children to help provide financial support. The funds will help Rena cover expenses both in the immediate and long-term future. As of Wednesday afternoon, almost $29,000 had been raised toward its $35,000 goal. To donate, click here.
“This has turned Rena, RJ and Remi’s life upside down,” the GoFundMe reads. “I know Randy is probably looking down, worrying about his wife and kids. I hope this helps bring him some comfort that we’re all taking care of them for him.”
A viewing will be held Dec. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Farnsworth Mortuary at 1343 S. Lincoln Avenue in Jerome. The funeral service will take place the following day at 11 a.m. at Frontier Elementary School at 525 S. Tiger Drive in Jerome. Burial will be at the Jerome Cemetery.
