Get a simple taste of Mexico at Cielito Lindo in Idaho Falls
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS – A new restaurant on the north side of Idaho Falls gives customers a little taste of Mexico.
Cielito Lindo, which means “Beautiful Sky,” opened in September at 1480 Fremont Avenue. It’s the building formerly occupied by Park Avenue Grill.
Benny Bravo and his wife, Maria, own the restaurant with another woman also named Maria. It offers a menu of 64 homemade dishes. EastIdahoNews.com sampled a few of them, including the carne asada burrito. It’s served with steak, lettuce, tomato, potatoes and cheese.
Another item we tried is the chimichanga. It comes with your choice of chicken or beef, lettuce, tomato and sour cream.
We also sampled a Mexican drink called aguachile. It’s served with mineral water, tomato juice and shrimp and is topped off with a Mexican spice.
Most of the menu items are familiar, but it’s worth stopping by to try the drink. Take a look in the video above.
Benny and his team have lived in Idaho Falls for more than a decade and are excited about this new venture. They’re inviting the community to try the menu.
Cielito Lindo is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
