While many restaurants are closed on Christmas — more than a few are open. EastIdahoNews.com has compiled a list of places planning to offer meals.
Idaho Falls/Ammon
Chinese Garden Restaurant: The business is open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Christmas from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Black Bear Diner: Join the diner for some festive feasting. According to employees, the business will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be turkey, ham and prime rib served on Christmas.
Jakers Bar & Grill: You can enjoy Christmas Eve with Jakers featuring a ‘Twin Lobster Tail’ dinner or a ‘Double R Ranch Prime Rib.’ Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will also be apple crisp available. Call (208) 524-5240 to make reservations. Walk-ins are welcome. They will be closed on Christmas.
Longhorn Steakhouse: The restaurant is open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and closed on Christmas.
Redd’s Grill: Celebrate the 7th annual Christmas Eve brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Snake River Event Center at the Shilo Inn. There will be a crepe and omelet station, a hot chocolate and coffee bar, yogurt parfaits, French toast, glazed ham, green bean casserole, as well as a dessert table filled with a variety of cookies, bread puddings, peanut butter fudge, peach and apple cobblers and more. Adults (11-55) will cost $29, seniors (56+) cost $21, children (5-10) cost $12, and 4 and under eat free.

Applebee’s: The bar and grill is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and is closed on Christmas Day.
Fuji Sushi & Hibachi: The restaurant will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Chuck-A-Rama Buffet: The buffet is open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be closed on Christmas Day.
Dee Kitchen: The business will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Bee’s Knees Pub & Catering Co.: Join the business for a Christmas Eve Buffet from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be lemon thyme chicken, chuck roast, turkey, honey glazed ham, mashed potatoes, penne alfredo, firecracker shrimp, rolls, desserts, cakes, and more. Adults (11-56) will cost $39, seniors (57+) will cost $29, children (5-10) will cost $13 and 4 and under will cost $8.99. To make reservations, call (208) 524-1669. Walk-ins are welcome.

Roadhouse Saloon: The kitchen will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Tchê Brazilian Grill: The grill is open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will cost $29.99 per adult all day. The holiday menu is available all month, but for Christmas Eve, the grill is adding a Moqueca fish stew, New York Strip Steak, and fruit salad medley. It is closed on Christmas Day.
Sizzler: The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day. They are running a few specials on steak and lobster.
Burger Theory: It’s open on Christmas Eve from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will serve breakfast and lunch. Then, on Christmas Day, it will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for breakfast.
Los Albertos #1: Located on 1st Street, this Mexican restaurant will be open on Christmas Eve from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be closed on Christmas.
Ririe
Farmhouse Table at 7N Ranch: The restaurant will be open on Christmas Eve from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Christmas Day.
Pocatello/Chubbuck
Applebee’s: The bar and grill is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., but it will be closed on Christmas.
Jakers Bar & Grill: The restaurant will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve. It will also feature the same items as the menu in Idaho Falls, including a ‘Twin Lobster Tail’ dinner or a ‘Double R Ranch Prime Rib.’ There will be apple crisp. Reservations are accepted by calling (208) 478-2000. Walk-ins are welcome. They will be closed on Christmas.
Elmer’s Restaurant: It’s open on Christmas Eve from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers a regular menu. They will be closed on Christmas.
El Caporal Mexican Restaurant: According to employees, they will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve but closed on Christmas Day.
Fuji Japanese Steakhouse: Employees say they will be open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. They will be open on Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Sizzler: Like Idaho Falls, the restaurant is open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and they will be closed on Christmas Day.
American Falls
China City Restaurant: The Chinese business will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Rexburg
Denny’s: The diner will be open 24 hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Applebee’s: The bar and grill is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Christmas Day.
Masala Indian Cuisine: They are open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There’s a holiday buffet being offered that started this week. Lunch is $17 per person, and dinner is $24 per person. With enough advance notice, the cuisine will consider catering orders for parties of 20 or more. Catering inquiries can be made by emailing masalarexburg@gmail.com. They are closed on Christmas Day.
Driggs
Citizen 33 Brewery: The family-friendly restaurant and microbrewery will be open on Christmas Eve from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., serving its regular menu. It will be closed on Christmas.
