A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out.

Every day from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise, and today we are in Bingham County with a surprise for Rosario.

Her husband, Raul, died in August 2022 from a stroke. He was the only provider for Rosario and their four children, including a son named Alex who has Down syndrome.

Raul never missed a day at work and always gave it his all. He took amazing care of Alex and they always hung out in public and at home.

Earlier this year, Alex was diagnosed with leukemia. He has needed to go to Utah for hospital appointments and treatment. Rosario has been by his side every step of the way.

Rosario’s three other children children all took on jobs to help support their mother financially. One daughter even moved back home to be by her younger brother’s side.

Rosario takes on seasonal jobs when she can and always gives 100%. They desperately need a new furnace as they are heating their home with space heaters, resulting in a massive electric bill.

Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to pay Rosario and her family a visit. Check out the video in the player above.
