A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out.

Every day from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise, and today we are surprising a teenager named Reagan.

Here’s what the letter to Secret Santa said about Reagan:

Reagan is a beautiful young woman – inside and out. She is kind to everyone around her and lights up any room she’s in.

This year our son with high functioning autism was going to attend Black Canyon middle school. His dad teaches at Thunder Ridge High School and we were really worried about him getting from middle school to the high school to get a ride home with his dad or sister. We asked Reagan is she would be willing to help him transition for a while and she totally agreed.

She did it very willingly and has gone above and beyond. She helps him gather his things after school and if he needs help before or after school, our son knows she’s willing to help him.

She wanted to play in band and that was going to be a hardship. She was able to borrow a flute to play in band, however, she won’t be able to keep the flute forever. It would be great if she could continue her three year love of the flute with an instrument she could keep forever. This would be such a special surprise for a special girl.

Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to go surprise Reagan and we caught up with her at school. Check it out in the video player above!
