NO THANK YOU — There’s no part of me that’s ever thought being a snake catcher would be fun, but a man in Australia seems to love what he does, and footage of his recent catch went viral.

The man goes by “Snake Catcher Dan” on Facebook. His profile says he’s a 24/7 licensed snake catcher who does snake relocations. Last week, he shared a wild video of a python found cozied up on someone’s couch outside. Can you even imagine walking out to your couch and seeing that unwelcome guest?

Dan was called to catch the snake and relocate it elsewhere.

“Talk about making yourself at home,” the video’s caption reads. “This beautiful Coastal Carpet Python decided to take a nap on the outdoor couch of a home in Yandina. Even made use of the pillows as a blanket.”

The video shows the snake — which is several feet long — curled up on the couch around two pillows. Dan slowly moves the pillows away to see the snake in its entirety.

“Hello, beautiful,” the snake catcher says. “You’re a gorgeous-looking animal.”

Dan then carefully but confidently picks up the snake and holds it up with both hands for those at the home to see.

“Look at that,” someone filming says.

Dan then asks the snake, “Are you being well-behaved?”

A big bag with a handle on it is seen lying on the floor next to Dan.

“Let’s get you in the bag. That’s where you want to go,” he says as he directs the snake. “We’ll find you a nice spot in the bush.”

In one of the comments on the video, Dan states he has “the best job in the world.”

Thank goodness there are people like Snake Catcher Dan to do a job that many people would run from.
