Bug expert Tim Cockerill talks insects, ‘A Real Bug’s Life’ and more in 7 Questions with Emmy
Published atEvery week I’m interviewing exciting people from Idaho and around the world!
Today we’re talking about BUGS with the ultimate bug expert!
Dr. Tim Cockerill has a PhD in tropical insect ecology from the University of Cambridge and is obsessed with bugs. He played a big part on season 2 of “A Real Bug’s Life.” It came out on Disney+ on January 15. The original series from National Geographic takes viewers on an extraordinary adventure into the micro-bug world — where the forces of nature play out on a completely different scale and miniature creatures rely on amazing superpowers to make it through each day.
I spoke with Dr. Cockerill and asked him the following questions:
- How did you get involved in “A Real Bug’s Life”?
- Why do you love bugs so much?
- Do you have a favorite bug?
- What do you think is the biggest misconception that people have about bugs?
- You’ve traveled all over the world studying bugs. Do you have a favorite place you have visited?
- Do any bugs scare you?
- What can viewers expect if they watch “A Real Bug’s Life”?
