IDAHO FALLS — The owner of Barrett Overhead Doors is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone who can help find his stolen trailer.

On Friday, Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m., Kiegan Barrett and his employees left the trailer parked at Hitt Pit Inc. on 25th East in Idaho Falls. By Saturday morning, the trailer was missing.

The trailer is a 2024 20-foot Summit 3/4 tilt deck trailer and cost Barrett $10,000.

Barrett reported the theft, and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

Sgt. Bryan Lovell of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office encourages people to take proper precautions to prevent theft.

“Making sure you have the VIN or serial number and license plate information is good practice as well as a picture,” Lovell said. “Hitch locks and security systems are relatively affordable and can be a helpful deterrent wherever trailers are stored. Reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement is always a good practice.”

Barrett is keeping his remaining equipment more secure and recommends others do the same.

“We’re going to put AirTags in all of our trailers and vehicles and equipment just to help track it,” Barrett said. “We just got to watch them a little bit closer.”

If you have any information about the stolen trailer, contact the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 529-1200.
