CHUBBUCK — Three local entrepreneurs, husband-and-wife duo Jayden and Ashley Chase and business partner Lloyd Welch, are revolutionizing the local fitness scene. They’ve launched a new gym, Iron Dynasty, which focuses on powerlifting, bodybuilding, weight training, nutrition, and overall well-being for people of all ages and fitness levels.

The Chases, competitive bodybuilders who ran a small gym in Pocatello called Chase Strong, met Lloyd Welch — a bodybuilder and certified nutrition coach — while attending one of his bodybuilding classes.

United by their shared passion for health and fitness, the trio combined their expertise and desire to open a gym to create Iron Dynasty, each taking on a distinct role.

Welch leads a bodybuilding team known as “Uncommon Breed” and works with clients from all walks of life, including law enforcement and medical professionals. As the primary face of the business, he manages it and coaches clients.

“Starting a gym has been a lifetime goal of mine. It’s my dream. It’s my lifestyle. Bodybuilding changed my life when I was heading down a bad road. I want to pass this lifestyle on to other young people who need a new direction and healthy alternatives for things to do here in the community,” Welch said.

Ashley, an accomplished businesswoman and Mountain Region Rental Properties co-owner will handle the company’s bookkeeping to ensure its financial health and keep the business within budget. Beyond her role in the company, Ashley is also a powerful example of the many health benefits of weight training and bodybuilding.

“I went through anxiety and depression after having kids,” she said. “I needed to do something for myself that was challenging, that pushed me to the limit, only for me.”

Ashley’s efforts resulted in a weight loss of 123 pounds.

Jayden’s role as event manager will involve networking and securing sponsorships for powerlifting events inside and outside the facility.

“I want to work with the schools from middle to high school to host powerlifting competitions here,” said Jayden. “We’ll also hold competitions through the American Powerlifting Federation.”

Open 24/7 with six personal trainers, Iron Dynasty will offer various activities, including powerlifting competitions, youth group strength training, and weight training for women called “Muscle Mommies.”

The gym also encourages families to come together, offering a family membership for up to five people for $70 per month. Iron Dynasty also offers corporate memberships and discounts for first responders, military personnel and students.

“We want our gym to have a family feel,” said Ashley. “We encourage families to get away from their screens, come in and move together.”

The team at Iron Dynasty has worked tirelessly to prepare for the grand opening on Feb. 1. They have moved up to 75 pieces of equipment, including four power racks, three deadlift platforms, four benches, five cardio equipment and 13 cable machines.

“There’s more on the way,” said Jayden. We’ve been hustling to take advantage of people still wanting to keep their New Year’s resolutions.” I find we actually handle things better under pressure.”

Welch added, “We’re excited to announce that Iron Dynasty has teamed up with UXO Supplements, a US veteran-owned company. We will be an official retailer of their products.”

Everyone is welcome to the grand opening at Iron Dynasty from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 1 at 12679 Go Way Avenue (one street from North of Tyhee Road off Yellowstone). Patrons can meet the staff, tour the facility, sample supplements, and sign up with no registration fee. There will also be an unsanctioned friendly deadlift competition for women and men for a chance to win $100. For more information, go to Iron Dynasty Gym Grand Opening.
