IDAHO FALLS — Six members of the Idaho Falls Spud Kings have been selected to compete in the National Collegiate Development Conference All-Star Games later this month.

The event, which will feature 164 players from the NCDC and United States Premier Hockey League, is scheduled for Jan. 27 and 28 at the Foxboro Sports Center in Foxboro, Mass, the NCDC website says.

Goalie Charlie Durkin, Defensemen Lucas Karlsson and DJ MacLeish, and Forwards Easton Edwards, Jonatan Raatikainen and Andrew Schmidt were each selected for the game, according to a news release from the team.

Schmidt is the team leader in points, with 38 (19 goals and 19 assists), the third-highest total in the NCDC. His six game-winning goals are tied for the highest total across the conference.

Edwards is second, with 34 (14 and 20). He and Schmidt are the only two Spud Kings currently averaging more than one point per game — 1.31 and 1.17, respectively. Karlsson is third on the team, averaging 0.93 points per game out of the backline.

Durkin’s 0.929 save percentage is 12th-best in the conference, while his 2.11 goals against average is sixth-best.

Idaho Falls’ six selections are third-most in the league, according to the news release, and second-most in the Mountain Division.

Head coach Anthony Bohn was also named to the coaching staff.

The games will be live streamed on FloSports, the release says.

Idaho Falls is currently second in the Mountain Division of the NCDC, with 45 points — a record of 21-5-2-1. Their point total makes them tied for third among all 22 teams that make up the three-division conference.

They return to the Mountain America Center this weekend, with games against the Pueblo Bulls on Friday and Saturday.
