There’s a new No. 1 in this week’s girls basketball state media poll as unbeaten Sugar-Salem moved to the top of the 4A rankings.
The Diggers had been trailing Timberlake most of the season but the White Tigers lost a pair of games to drop down to third. South Fremont moved up to No. 2 while Bear Lake and Teton maintained the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
There was no change in 5A as Pocatello held at No. 2 and Skyline and Blackfoot were third and fifth. The Grizzlies and Broncos close out the conference regular season on Tuesday night.
Malad received all nine first-place votes in 3A to stay No. 1, but Rockland fell from the top spot in 1A as Genesee tallied one more first-place vote and jumped to No. 1 by a point.
