AMMON – Two people are in custody after a knife fight at an Ammon home Tuesday night.

Earlier Wednesday, EastIdahoNews.com reported it happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Robison Drive. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is now releasing names of some of the people involved.

Thirty-six-year-old Felicitas Irene Negrete and 20-year-old Grason Rai Schneider have been arrested in connection with the dispute.

In a Wednesday afternoon news release from Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement provide more details about what happened.

Authorities say Schneider and Negrete were fighting when deputies arrived. Another man received non-life-threatening wounds and Negrete was injured while fighting with someone else in the house.

There were other adults and kids inside at the time. They saw what happened and deputies questioned them during the investigation.

Apparently, the fight was about comments made back and forth on social media. Negrete and another unidentified man went to the house on Robison Drive to confront them.

“Ms. Negrete immediately engaged in a physical fight with the female who opened the door, causing her to receive a broken nose, lacerations, and other injuries,” Sgt. Bryan Lovell says in a news release. “During that time, Schneider, who was inside the (house), sprayed pepper spray at Ms. Negrete and the male who arrived with her, causing them to attempt to retreat back outside.”

The man tried to punch Schneider, who swung a knife at him and injured him. The injured man, along with the person fighting with Negrete, were taken to the hospital and treated. The man was taken by ambulance and the other female was taken in a separate, private vehicle.

Negrete and Schneider have been charged with felony aggravated battery and are in custody at the Bonneville County Jail. Additional people may be charged, pending an investigation.

Idaho Falls police officers and firefighters were on scene helping with the response. The SWAT team was there for a short time as well, until authorities confirmed everyone involved had been located.
