Woman killed, man rushed to hospital in northern Idaho crash

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police responded to a fatal crash that occurred on Tuesday at approximately 1:30 p.m. on SH11 near French Mountain Road in Clearwater County.

A 2005 Buick Century, driven by a 65-year-old female from Weippe, was traveling northbound on SH11 when the Buick crossed left of center and collided with a 2016 GMC Sierra. The GMC Sierra was driven by a 55-year-old male from Pierce.

The driver of the GMC Sierra was transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Buick Century succumbed to her injuries on scene.

The highway was shut down for approximately two hours while first responders investigated the scene. Next of kin has been notified.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
