Get a Bingo and you could win a prize during Rexburg’s annual restaurant rush

REXBURG – The Rexburg Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its third annual Rexburg Restaurant Rush.
It’s happening Feb. 28 through March 8, and the purpose of it is to support local restaurants during a time of year when business is particularly slow.
Becca Stucki, the chamber’s director of events and communication, tells EastIdahoNews.com 21 restaurants will be participating. Each of them will have a deal happening in conjunction with that week.
“Some restaurants have a buy one, get one deal. Some have different deals each day,” Stucki says.
The deals are listed on Bingo sheets available at the chamber or at each of the participating restaurants. Those who visit and make a purchase will get a sticker. Customers who get a Bingo can send a picture of it to the Chamber through Facebook and be entered into a drawing for gift cards to one of the eateries.
“There are also different challenge squares — things like follow a restaurant on social media or leave a Google review,” Stucki says. “It’s a fun way to get out and try a new place (for lunch or dinner).”
Among the participating restaurants is Kainoa’s Hawaiian Grill, Righteous Slice and Fresco Kitchen & Grill. Newer establishments like Masala Indian Cuisine and Sugarbeast are also participating.

Sugarbeast opened last July in the dome-shaped building across from the Brigham Young University-Idaho Center. It offers 10 homemade ice cream flavors that frequently rotate, along with pastries, chocolates and candy.
Owner Jared Gold says he’s looking forward to serving new customers during the event.
“As a new restaurant, this is a prime event to help us spread the Sugarbeast love and gain a new following leading into our 2025 summer season,” Gold says.
The Rexburg Restaurant Rush launched in 2023. Janalyn Holt, the previous Chamber CEO, worked in the restaurant industry and knew from personal experience the months of January, February and March are historically slow times of year for restaurants.
Holt came up with this event as a creative way to support local eateries.
Diane Bruce was recently installed as the new CEO and she’s continuing the event launched by her predecessor.
Stucki says Rexburg Restaurant Rush is a well-supported event every year, bringing in people from Idaho Falls and St. Anthony.
“We get thousands of people participating and we’re just hoping to grow that number,” says Stucki.
Many restaurants will be doing their own separate thing to make it fun and exciting for customers, and she hopes people will support it.
“We’re really excited. We’ve got a good variety of restaurants this year and we’re hoping people will support local and have fun while doing it,” Stucki says.
