IDAHO FALLS — Want to know what’s happening this weekend? Do you have an event the public needs to know about? EastIdahoNews.com is here to help.

We’re proud to launch a new community calendar that is free, easy to use and helps you reach the biggest audience in eastern Idaho.

You can find the calendar on the EastIdahoNews.com homepage and our mobile app. From there, explore an unlimited number of concerts, plays, games and other events. You can search for things happening within 1 to 150 miles of your home and narrow results by specific cities.

Posting an event is fairly simple, too. We have a step-by-step video in the player above or follow these instructions:

  1. Go to EastIdahoNews.com on your web browser or open the app on your smartphone and click on the “Community Calendar” button.
  2. Under Featured Events, click “Add Event.”
  3. If you don’t already have a CitySpark account, you will need to create one. It’s free and takes less than a minute.
  4. After you’re logged into your CitySpark account, enter the title of your event, web link, location and venue information.
  5. The date and time section has some neat features. You can “Add Another Date” or a “Repeating Event.” “Edit Dates” allows you to change or delete a specific time and date a series.
  6. Choose at least one category.
  7. Select an image or upload your own graphic.
  8. In the Enhanced Media field, you can upload additional media if you want.
  9. Enter the event description.
  10. Select “Ticketing” and “Pricing” information. The “Paid Event” option will open up price range fields to fill out.
  11. Click “Review” to preview how your event will appear on the calendar. Check that spelling and all the other details are correct.
  12. If you want to make a change, click “Back to Edit.”
  13. Click the “Make Private” button and select the East Idaho News bubble so your event will only show on the EastIdahoNews.com community calendar page.
  14. Agree to the terms and conditions.
  15. If you want to pay to have your event boosted, click “Proceed to Promotion Options.” Here you can have your event displayed on the top Featured Events line plus some other options.
  16. Once you’re all done, click “Submit and Finish” and your event will appear on the East Idaho News Community Calendar.

We hope our new community calendar will help connect and bring eastern Idahoans together.
