HOMEDALE – A woman from western Idaho is dead following a two-vehicle collision near Homedale.

It happened Thursday at 6:59 a.m. on U.S. Highway 95 at milepost 31 south of Homedale, according to a news release from Idaho State Police.

An unidentified 23-year-old man from Mexico was headed north on Highway 95 in a 2013 Kenworth semi tractor hauling a trailer. For an unknown reason, the driver swerved into the southbound lane and hit a 65-year-old woman from Parma, who was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to ISP, but the woman was killed. The condition of the other driver was not specified. The report does not say whether he was hospitalized.

ISP is still investigating the crash.
