POCATELLO – People will soon have the opportunity to stroll through the Gate City’s Historic Downtown and taste dozens of beer flavors.

The 14th Annual Gate City Brewfest will be held on March 8. There will be 17 participating locations, with around 80 different flavors of beers spread out across them. Rather than stay in one location, Brewfest offers beer lovers the unique opportunity to walk through the city’s most historic streets and see what they still have to offer.

“You’re going to be walking throughout the area, and you’re going to see shops you may not have known are open. You’re going to experience restaurants that maybe you haven’t been to. It really is an opportunity to showcase what our downtown businesses have to offer,” said Stephanie Palagi, president of Historic Downtown Pocatello.

Historic Downtown expects to have around 1,000 people walk its streets between the hours of 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. while they visit locations on East Center Street, Main Street and Center Street for unlimited beer pours.

“Folks are walking from restaurant to restaurant, bar to bar, brew pub to brew pub. It’s just a great time for the community to come out and taste beers that are local favorites, as well as guest brewers from the state of Idaho and all over the Pacific Northwest,” Palagi said.

For people who need a break walking, there will be five stops where people can board and exit the Historic Downtown Trolley, which will shuttle them through the event area.

Many of the locations will have DJs playing music throughout the day, and some will have live music. Most of the restaurants, as well as the bars that serve food, will have menu specials offered throughout the day.

Advance tickets are available online for $30, and they’ll be available until 5 p.m. on March 7. At that point, advance tickets will be available at Wanderlust until 7 p.m. Tickets will also be available for $40 starting at noon the day of the event at Center Street Clubhouse, The Pocatello/Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce and the Historic Downtown office at Lookout Point.

“If you love craft beers, if you want to experience locally brewed craft beer at our local breweries, this is the event to come out and enjoy,” Palagi said.
