Power outage results in closure of three schools, over 3,500 without electricity

RIGBY — A power outage in Jefferson County has led to the closure of three schools Tuesday.
Rocky Mountain Power reports the outage affects around 3,500 customers in Rigby, Roberts, Menan and other parts of the county.
Jefferson School District 251 will not hold classes at the following schools due to the outage:
- Midway Elementary
- Roberts Elementary
- Jefferson High School
The outage was caused by a damaged power line, according to the utility company. It was first reported around 6 a.m.
