Skiers win $10,000 in annual Kings & Queens of Corbet’s at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) announced that skiers Tim McChesney and Ana Eyssimont have been crowned this year’s King and Queen of Corbet’s at the seventh annual Kings & Queens of Corbet’s ski and snowboard invitational.
McChesney and Eyssimont each earned their first-ever King and Queen titles, rising to the top of a stacked field of 24 skiers and snowboarders taking on the legendary Corbet’s Couloir. Both athletes took home a total of $10,000 in prize money — $5,000 for winning their respective ski categories and an additional $5,000 each as the highest-scoring male and female athletes across all disciplines.
Yuki Kadono and Sarka Pancochova each took home $5,000 in prize money as the highest-scoring male and female snowboarders. Kadono landed a smooth cork three and a frontside 1080 on the bottom kicker, while Pancochova threw a stylish straight air off the lip into a switch 540 on the bottom kicker.
Conditions were nearly perfect as the event kicked off on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 11, just days after a winter storm delivered fresh powder to Corbet’s Couloir. Partly sunny skies provided athletes and spectators with clear visibility through the early rounds before afternoon snowfall added even more to a season that has already seen over 275 inches at the top of Rendezvous Mountain.
McChesney secured the men’s ski title with a massive dub cork 1080 off the top cornice and a switch 1080 at the bottom kicker, setting the bar high as the first competitor to drop. He edged out runner-up Alex Hackel, who landed a stylish hand-drag 720, and third-place finisher Tristen Lilly.
Eyssimont claimed the women’s ski crown with a powerful run featuring a big straight air into a backflip, topping the podium ahead of 2023 champion Claire McPherson and 2021 winner Piper Kunst.
Jed Sky and Spencer Whiting rounded out the men’s snowboard podium, finishing in second and third place, while Madison Blackley and Erika Vikander claimed the runner-up and third-place spots in the women’s snowboard category.
Second-place finishers in all four categories took home $3,000, while third-place finishers earned $2,000, as JHMR awarded a total of $50,000 in prize money for the event.
While the King and Queen awards were decided by the athletes themselves, the People’s Choice award will be determined through an online vote in partnership with GORE-TEX and Mammut. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will announce the winner on its Instagram account.
