WOULD YOU DO THIS? — I’ve never been an adrenaline junkie or a very daring person, and this week’s viral video had me feeling okay that I like to walk on the safer side.

The video was shared by @suttonsjourney on TikTok on Feb. 3, 2025, before being shared on Facebook. The video was reportedly taken in Georgetown, Colorado, and appears to have been filmed off Interstate 70, as vehicles are seen continually passing in front of the video.

Footage shows a handful of cars driving on the frozen Georgetown Lake. Some cars seem to be driving a little slower, while other drivers truly appear to be enjoying their time on the ice as they slide in circles on the lake.

“During winter weekends, ice racing takes place on Georgetown Lake,” the Facebook post states. “Before it’s allowed, the lake must have at least 12 inches of ice and 18 inches of ice before trucks and trailers are allowed onto the ice.”

As one of the vehicles spins on top of the lake, the man recording the video goes, “Oh, that would be so cool!”

Other commenter’s agree with him saying, “When ice is thick enough, great place to teach your kid to drive” and “As long as the ice is thick enough, this looks like a blast! I’ve done it several times in North Dakota!”

One viewer warned, “Don’t let your insurance agent see this” and another chimed in saying, “Who would want to do that? Not me.”

Accuweather reminds those participating in this kind of activity to play it smart.

“It’s always important to check the thickness of the ice before driving on any frozen lake,” the Facebook post reads.
