Neurologist, businesswoman join Riverbend Awareness Project to discuss multiple sclerosis
Published at | Updated atMarch is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness month, and the Riverbend Awareness Project invited Heidi Blumell, a local businesswoman with MS, and Dr. Stephen Vincent from Eastern Idaho Neurology to come and share their knowledge of and experiences with MS.
Heidi shared her gratitude for the support of faith, family and friends, and how she stayed hopeful during the lows and highs. Heidi emphasized the importance of learning all you can after a diagnosis and being honest and kind to yourself throughout the journey.
In part two of the episode, Dr. Vincent gives insight into how diagnosis and treatment of MS have evolved so much in the last several years. He also highlighted that not all symptoms of MS are visible, and if you’re trying to help a loved one with MS, start by asking them how they want to be supported.
Part one of the Riverbend Awareness Project MS awareness month episode is out now and available wherever you get podcasts, and part two will be released March 15.
