EASTERN IDAHO — Eastern Idaho High Schools finished the winter sports season in possession of an impressive 24 state championships.

Rockland, Sugar-Salem and Pocatello won girls basketball championship. Preston added District 5-6 schools’ lone boys basketball banner. Malad won a team state wrestling championship, while 23 individuals grabbed their own wrestling title.

Here are some of the sights from the winter sports season.

Pocatello girls basketball

Century boys basketball
The Century High School boys basketball team celebrates a buzzer-beating victory over Highland High School, on Jan. 31, 2025, at Highland High School. The Diamondbacks finished the season with a 12-11 record.

Pocatello girls basketball
The Pocatello girls basketball team poses with its 5A District 5 championship trophy. The Thunder beat Preston, 65-49, in the District Tournament title game to earn a berth in the state tournament.

Watersrpings boys basketball
