Watersprings’ Korban Nelson and Evan Bindenagel top Rocky Mountain Conference honors

The 1A Rocky Mountain Conference finished a stellar season with all three teams that qualified for state coming home with trophies as Challis finished runner-up, Rockland was third and Watersprings won the consolation trophy.
Individually, the conference awards were highlighted by Watersprings, with Korban Nelson earning Player of the Year and Evan Bindenagel earning Coach of the Year.
Nelson, a junior, led the Warriors in scoring at 13.8 points per game and in assists at 3.7. He also hit the game-winning shot to defeat Rockland in the 1A District 5-6 tournament final.
Watersprings won the consolation title at the state tournament and finished 22-4. The state trophy was the first for the program.
